EUEW Convention 2018

I experienced many changes within the industry in a 13 years' time period since I participated at the EUEW General Convention for the first time in 2004. Back then I didn’t picture myself becoming the EUEW president one day. Today I am honored to serve as the new president, and being elected and confirmed by its General Assembly. It is also an honor to build further on the solid basis of my predecessors and João Bencatel from FEGIME, who initiated several changes within the organisation in the last two years.

I am happy to inform you that we have already introduced two essential changes. Firstly there is the appointment of Hans Hanegreefs as the new EUEW General Secretary, following Yves de Coorebyter, who served the organization for many years. Secondly there is our attempt to strengthen the connection and interaction between the EUEW and the electrical wholesalers. For this, we formed the EUEW Advisory Council. I feel confident that also after my presidency, EUEW’s incoming President Alexander Dewulf, Chief Executive Officer at Cebeo & Sonepar Belgium, will continue on this path and new direction.

Finally, this year in June, we had a very successful EUEW General Convention in Krakow, which turned out to be a great opportunity for networking with our European colleagues. And we are delighted to host next year’s (2018) annual meeting in Bonn, Germany. We hope to bring to you relevant and beneficial information through this newsletter, which will keep you updated about all news regarding the EUEW 63rd General Convention in Bonn, 2018 and more.

Thank you and enjoy the reading.

Kind regards

Ulrich Liedtke
EUEW President
